Patricia Ramos is dean of workforce and economic development for Santa Monica College. As the administrative leader in academic affairs over career technical education, she develops partnerships with business, labor and other educational institutions to align SMC's career technical education programs to the current and projected workforce needs of the Los Angeles region. Her prior roles at SMC include director of the Small Business Development Center; her career in higher education has been enhanced by her successful business ownership. Ramos is commissioner and board officer on the L.A. County Workforce Development Board. She is a fellow of the National Hispana Leadership Institute and Hispanas Organized for Political Equality Leadership Institute. She also serves on many educational and workforce committees locally and statewide. Ramos earned her master's in educational counseling from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and her doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Southern California.
